Tesla is planning to recall its Model S electric cars in Norway due to issues with the motor / transmission assembly.

Around 1,100 cars are expected to be recalled and owners will be notified about the issue.

According to reports, there is an issue between the motor's connectors and the transmission which has not been greased properly when installed in the factory, which could cause premature usage or other defections in the car.

Owners of the affected Model S are expected to receive free servicing of the car which could include application of more grease to a part that connects the electric motor to the single-speed gearbox.

The company has had issues with the car previously but it did not issue a formal recall till now.

Norway is an important market for the electric car maker, and it sold record number of cars in the country which includes 1,500 units in March alone, reported Ecomento.
